After receiving her MBA from Southern Illinois University in 1983,Vera — named “Most Outstanding Female MBA Graduate” — began a successful career in the field of medical billing. Vera, among her many outstanding accomplishments, served as CEO of a large group practice for 14 years, making a tremendous impact on their internal operations and revenues during that time. Having honed her expertise through her work, she then moved on to offer her knowledge and insights to other practices, co-founding Practice Management in 1995.

With over 20 years of experience in health care operations, as well as in the development and implementation of health care marketing strategy, Vera is considered an expert in her field. She has written articles published in both the Illinois Medical Journal and Computers and Physician Magazine. In addition, Vera has presented at a number of conferences – including the American Psychiatric Association conference – on the subject of effective office practice management.

Vera has held memberships and leadership positions with several advisory boards and councils, and is currently a member of two: the Provider Outreach & Education Advisory Group (POE AG) for WPS (Medicare), and the Harper College Medical Office Administration Programs Advisory Board.
